Middletown ScriptIf you have been waiting for the next opportunity to audition for a role in a MVLCT production, or are looking to join the production team with your awesome skills, our next open auditions are coming up!

We will be having open auditions for our production of Middletown by Will Eno on Sunday January 15th and Monday January 16th at 7pm on both days. Come ready to read sides from the play, maybe play some games, and with any known conflicts throughout the production schedule you can note on your audition form.  The show will run March 9-12, 2017.

We are looking for actors as well as technical crew–so if you are interested, please stop by on either night!

Middletown is a quirky dark comedy that explores the somewhat bizarre universe of small town America, and, of course, existential dread and all the accumulated experiences that make our “lives” what they are.  Folks that have great comedic timing and understand script text that is very conversational and “back-and-forth” will be perfect for any of these roles.

The roles for the show are (in order of appearance, and the ages noted are the recommended age from the playwright):

  • Public Speaker – male, 40s-60s
  • Cop – male, 30s-50s
  • Mrs. Swanson – female, late 30s
  • John Dodge – male, late 30s-40s
  • Mechanic – male, late 20s-30s
  • Librarian – female, 50s-60s
  • Tour Guide – female, 20s-30s
  • Male Tourist – male, 30s-40s
  • Female Tourist – female 30s-40s
  • Greg – male, 40s-60s
  • Aunt – female, 40s-50s
  • Sweetheart – female, teens to early 20s
  • Man – male, 20s-30s
  • Freelancer – male, 30s-40s
  • Woman – female, 20s-30s
  • Landscaper – male, 20s-30s
  • Male Doctor – male, 40s-50s
  • Female Doctor – female, 40s-50s
  • Attendant – female, 20s-30s
  • Attendant 2 – female, 20s-30s
  • Janitor Male – male, 30s-50s
